The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET), formerly known as the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS), is regarded as an industry-standard gateway for those interested in pursuing a career in teaching or training in the FE and HE sectors, though you will need access to learners to teach in order to meet the practical requirements of this course. Chapter 9: Understanding and managing behaviours in a learning environment.

Level of Qualification/Skill Level

Understanding of the relationship between theory/principles and practice in the context of your existing or prospective role.

A planned approach to reading and researching principles, theories and practice.

Evidence of a reflective approach.

Prerequisites/Before the course

You must be at least 19 years old.

You must be in-service or voluntarily delivering sessions – you will be observed in your workplace.

Good research skills on the internet.

Good English reading and writing abilities are required.

You must be qualified/experienced in the subject you plan to teach/deliver.

Access to 30 teaching practice hours – a teaching hours log would be required (a letter from the organisation).

At least a Level 2 qualification in English, Mathematics, and ICT – If you do not have the required qualifications at the beginning of the qualification, you must agree to provide them by the end.

Complete ‘Application Form’.

Photographic proof of identification [Any 1 of the following]

A valid passport with a VISA is required (any nationality).

Driving Licence with Signed UK Photo Card.

Valid Warrant Card issued by HM Forces or Police.

Other photographic ID cards, such as an employee ID card (current employer required), a student ID card, a travel card, etc.)

Awarding Organisation

A nationally recognized awarding organization that OFQUAL has approved (e.g. HABC or TQUK).

Possible Results

PASS/ REFER/ FAIL – This qualification is graded on a pass/fail basis, and we are committed to ensuring that as many learners as possible receive their certificates. If there are any issues with your theory assignments, the assessor will give you action points and instructions on fixing them in the next attempt.

How does the online course work?

The theory covered in the online L4 CET course is the same as in the classroom course.

It gives you the flexibility to go over the resource materials in your free time.

You will receive your User ID and Password to the LMS (Learning Management System) as soon as you book the course by making the payment.

You only need to go through the LMS’s ‘Welcome Page,’ which will explain how to proceed with the course.

Quite simple – more like an open book exam!!!
